2010 Polaris Prize & MusiCounts in Harmony Once Again!

polaris_2010

On Monday, September 20, 2010, Polaris held a viewing party at the Drake Hotel in Toronto in conjunction with MusiCounts. Because the gala is an invite-only event with limited capacity, this was the first ever opportunity for fans of Polaris and the artists to watch the event. We here at MusiCounts would like to congratulate Karkwa for winning the 2010 Polaris Music Prize for their brilliant album, Les Chemins de verre!

The piano comes courtesy of MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), and partner Baldwin Pianos. Westview Centennial, located in Toronto’s North York community, is the first-ever recipient of a new education initiative, the MusiCounts Baldwin Piano Prize, valued at $40,000, to be bestowed annually to a deserving Canadian school in support of music education.
